PA-LC is an assembled liquid crystal polymer sandwiched between two or more outer polyester sheets. The conductive inner surface uses electricity (on when in the ON position and off in the OFF position) to create the “transparency on / transparency off” effect. Thanks to the indirect light effect of the liquid crystals, this product lends itself exceptionally well to applications such as “remote screens” (e.g. as in ideal screen for rear-projection). This film is sandwiched between two extra-clear 5 mm-thick float glass panes. The lamination technique is used to insert a special film which gives the finished product advanced safety properties. The individual panes are supplied complete with electronic transformers. The view through this partition depends on the position of the observer. A position perpendicular to the glass provides maximum transparency, and this decreases as the observer moves into a parallel position. This position gives a “misty” effect.
